Even though there you can buy wooden bird feeders that come in the styles mentioned above there are three main types of wooden bird feeders.  The first being a plantation bird feeder.  Plantation bird feeders are typically shaped like a house and allow the birds the birds to perch on either side while they feed.  Plantation bird feeders offer a protection for the birds because of the slanted roof.  These types of wooden bird feeders can be hanging bird feeders or they can be mounted on a bird feeder pole.  This is the basic design and there can be many variations off of it.
